The George Washington University Law School is not only the
oldest law school in the District of Columbia, but perhaps the most centrally
located as well. GWU's Foggy Bottom campus is located just blocks from the White
House, and is a short trip from the Capital, the Supreme Court, and several
federal and state courts. The School takes full advantage of its location to
provide law students with a rich educational experience. It draws on local
talent to teach advanced courses, and provides clinic and internship
opportunities that expose students to criminal, civil, and regulatory law at the
local, national, and international levels.
GWU offers both full and part time JD programs. It
maintains a diverse student body, drawing students from across the United States
and around the world. GWU Law School strives to provide a wide and varied range
of elective courses, making it possible for students to design an educational
experience that supports their personal and career interests. The School also
offers joint degree programs combining law with business, international trade
and development, area studies, women’s studies, history, and science and
technology.
